Acne is one of the most common skin diseases, caused by irregular function of the sebaceous glands, says Dr Neil Niren MD.

It is not only an aesthetic but primarily a health issue. About 80 percent of young people aged between 12 and 25 years suffer from this disease, while three percent of the population has acne in the fifth decade of life. The main factor for their formation is a genetic predisposition, but in women who have hormonal problems may occur as a result of altered hormonal status, as is the case with polycystic ovary syndrome. The clinical picture can vary from very mild, characterized by blackheads, to very severe forms with extensive abscess and severe scarring.

According to Dr Neil Niren acne can be completely cured, but only if the therapy starts in time and if it is shown enviable persistence. Today there are a number of effective products available on the market, and practically there is no reason for anyone to go with acne on the body. Women with polycystic ovaries should know that they must first use hormone therapy because only acne therapy is not sufficient, since for them the hormones continuously stimulate the formation of new acne, states Neil Niren MD.
