Neha Kaushik - The Wall

The time has been changing eversince,
the stories have been rewritten,
so many people have become history,
major happenings of past are forgotten chapters.

I’ve witnessed everything,
the stories, the history, the people,
and still I’m standing silently,
to be a witness to many more.

I was there to see the conspiracies,
I bore the slogans of revolutions,
I’ve seen the blood shed,
I saw the hitlers of everytime.

When the people had differences,
I was created between them.
when the people needed protection,
I was made their defender.

I’ve stood against the nature’s fury,
from the times unknown.
waves tried to gallop me,
winds tried to trodden me apart.

Still I’m standing unmoved,
untouched by atrocities,
tolerating all the tyranny,
bearing every pain & blow.

At times I felt helpless over my disposition,
several times I wanted to speak,
but my shouts of silence went unheard in crowd,
and today me ‘The WALL’ is still braving against the odds.
