Description

In his own words - Music and sound fill in for my sense of smell, which has been absent since birth. Sound is my primary sense-memory trigger, stronger even than sight. Chords can trigger in me summers and winters long turned, and great beats make me see friends and faces fresh and clear again. With the guitar, and my songs, I can explore every moment of my life, past and future, in the present time.

I see everything too, but it's the SOUND that makes me feel that connection between my blood pounding and the outside world. Steel-strings against my glass fingerboard creates a sound delicate, final, and resonating without end. I can hear the nickel grinding the glass into musical sound one molecule at a time.

I spent a summer in Alaska learning how to write my own songs. With constant daylight on tap, I wrote from 12am to 2pm every day, completely turning my existence around without suffering the usual blues of swing shift living. I learned both realities of self-medicating with music and music alone; creative thought is addictive, and also vindictive when it goes missing from the medicine cabinet.

All this time writing music now past, it means everything. Songs, I really believe, are hitchhikers in time. I've tried to be a vehicle for the music, to be the guy opening the door as the passengers of sound come in and ask, where is this rig headed?
