Description

President Barack Obama is putting aside $100m to launch a mission that is aimed at helping scientists learn more about asteroids. It is hoped that should an asteroid come too close to Earth like it did in February, when it blew up over Russia, a spacecraft would intercept it and send it far away from our planet. Al Jazeera's Gerald Tan explains.
