Narendra Modi invites Rajapaksa willing, allies objects

Narendra Modi's invitation to President Rajapaksa for his swearing-in ceremony has kicked up a storm in India. Several Tamil Nadu political parties, including BJP ally Vaiko has threatened protests in Delhi, if President Rajapska were to attend the swearing-in ceremony on Monday (26th).

Indian Prime Minister designate Modi extended the invitation to all SAARC heads of states including significantly to Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif, who has confirmed his visit to India. President Rajapska tweeted that he will attend the swearing-in ceremony and subsequently invited the Northern Province Chief Minister to join his delegation.
