Nancy Ames - To Princess Diana
4 Views • Nov 07, 2014
Description
flag unfurled,
she shares her shyness
with the world.
The light incessant,
the wealthy lover,
the clothes, the jewels, the fling.
The female pheasant
flies out from cover
and flaps her 'broken' wing.
Her Royal Highness,
flag unfurled,
she shares her shyness
with the world.
A hunting trophy,
high on a shelf,
her plumage glows with colour.
She might possibly
have been saved herself,
if she had been a little duller.
Her Royal Highness,
flag unfurled,
she shares her shyness
with the world.
