Nagashima Spa Land (ナガシマスパーランド): An Unforgettable Experience!

Just before New-Year we went to Nagashima Spa Land (ナガシマスパーランド) Mie-ken, Japan. Its about a 1 ½ hour drive from Kyoto on the highway and the weather, although a little chilly, was sunny and dry. It is a fairly big amusement park along the pacific ocean in the Ise bay. I have been there before in the summer and enjoyed the onsen that is attached to the park. They also have a large open air swimming pool with some awesome water slides. You can have a lot of fun there and when its all done you can visit the nearby "outlet" shopping mall (walking distance). Nagashima Spa Land (ナガシマスパーランド) is a major amusement park in Kuwana, Mie Prefecture, Japan. It features several roller coasters, thrill rides, and kid rides, a giant Ferris wheel, and a water park. As of 2012, Nagashima Spa Land is the 18th most visited amusement park in the world.

Nagashima Spa Land is the home of Aurora Wheel (大観覧車オーロラ), a giant Ferris wheel. It is 90 metres (295 ft) tall and 83 metres (272 ft) in diameter.

Looping Star (ルーピングスター): As the train goes up the lift hill and into the drop, it goes into a large vertical loop, and then into multiple 180-degree helices. Then ride goes around a large 180-degree helix and then into a brake run; after two small left turns and a straightaway, the train returns to the station.

Shuttle Loop (シャトルループ): The ride takes off and goes through a loop. It then goes up a hill, loses momentum, and goes backwards through the loop. It goes past the station to another hill. It then loses speed and goes back to the station and ends. The complete ride is about 30 seconds.

Steel Dragon 2000 (スチールドラゴン2000) is a roller coaster at Nagashima Spa Land amusement park in Mie Prefecture, Japan.This coaster opened, appropriately, in 2000—"The Year of the Dragon" in Asia. It debuted only months after Millennium Force at Cedar Point, and surpassed that as the world's tallest complete-circuit coaster. It lost these records in height in 2003 when Top Thrill Dragster opened at Cedar Point. It also took the record for the longest track length—8,133 feet 2 inches (2,478.99 m)—which it currently holds. The ride is the second fastest coaster in Japan and the sixth fastest in the world.

Ultra Twister (ウルトラツイスター): he car goes slowly through the station, loads riders, and then flips the car straight up, into the lift hill, which is partially very slow, but soon speeds up as the car is almost at the top. As the drop, into an airtime hill, and then up into a heartline roll, a very small hill, and then a brake run, going down into two heartline rolls, and then a magnetic trim brake run allows a car to go slowly back into the station.

White Cyclone (ホワイトサイクロン) is a wooden roller coaster at Nagashima Spa Land in Mie Prefecture, Japan. At 1,700 m (5,600 ft) in length, White Cyclone is the third longest wooden roller coaster in the world, and is the longest wooden roller coaster outside of the United States. In addition to being the third longest wooden roller coaster, White Cyclone is the seventh tallest wooden roller coaster in the world, and the fourth tallest wooden roller coaster outside the United States.
