Nadine Hock - Reaching Heaven (Or So)

It has been a dark night.
we had the sword of damocles above our heads.
But we were strong
and we made our way through all of the tests.

Now there should come a new morning.
We didn´t expect to see the dawning of a dark sun.
Where are the fanfares and trumpets,
which should accompany our rise
out of the dark?

Each of us lost friends in this endless night.
But we never thought, we could die as well.
Now we have to face the one and only truth,
that noone is immortal.

While our skin starts to burn under the rising sun,
we recognize, that we were never supposed to come this far.
God, or whoever created this sick world,
never planned, that a human being would reach a point
somewhere beyond life.

Maybe we´re in heaven.
A heaven, noone saw before.
And melting in the sun we kill each other
to come home again.
