The NAACP filed a federal lawsuit accusing Elon Musk's xAI of violating the Clean Air Act by operating unpermitted gas turbines at a Southaven, Mississippi data center site. The complaint alleges the generators could emit over 1,700 tons of nitrogen oxides annually. The group is seeking a halt to turbine use, emissions controls, and daily penalties.
