Laid-back rap with eloquent rhymes and sophisticated melodies - these are the ingredients of N.I.K.O.’s new album „Zwischen Asphalt und Milchstraße“ (engl. Between the Asphalt and the Milkyway). The first single, „Als ich noch schlief“, begins with the gentle sound of the sea, tropic atmosphere and is about an imaginary seductive mermaid. Immediately you are longing for summer and love. But the musician’s new album contains much more. Sometimes it’s serious, other times playful, but above all it’s melodic, relaxed and well articulated.

But although there are a few feel good songs on his album, N.I.K.O. also allows enough space for serious subjects. “I constructed my album in a way that makes it easy to listen to but still gives room for enough thoughtfulness”, he remarks.
He wraps his thoughts into colorful texts, which are even in English and Italian now and then. “Zwischen Asphalt und Milchstraße” was written and recorded over the last three years and deals with everything that is important to N.I.K.O. and his life. Crises he went through and all sorts of musings, that came up to his mind. He reflects on love, his art, the consumer society and film.
