Myrtle Thomas - The Weeping Willow
22 Views • Oct 29, 2014
Description
hangs low with with drawn bough
yet delicate limbs dancing
to a sorrowful wind some how
how flighty in majesty
stands her stature
even in weepy reputation
she portrays her beauty in a weepy way
as grand as the southern belle
her heart runs deep in fertile soil
while limbs sway in beauty
to see her standing tall in mornings light
you forget her weeping for awhile
when her branches offer comfort
from the heat of mid day
I've wondered since childhood
what makes her look so sad
and if she sheds tear drops
from her lowly limbs
remind me of the grace in solitude
and simplicity, for there is grace when tears flow
