My Lady Eagle - I Have Tried

If in the clouds, your image, I could form
Then desperate would my longing be
In turning new breaths old.

Joyous breeze,
They're yours and yours alone;
That of heaven's favor in a lover's ear-
If only when you speak of hymns.

But I carry now the steps you took:
The burden I prayed for to vanish.
Oh, how brutal can your whispers be?
How brutal can they be?

And so I'm sighing all these wanting now,
But will it bother you
As you have lingered in my heart?
Or will it lead you
In a struggle to breathe me out?

So if your heart do fail me,
So if I fail to hold your heart,
Still, please think of me
And remember that I've tried.
