Description

Turkish prime minister visits a training camp in northern Iraq where it's military is helping train up peshmerga forces in the fight against Islamic State militants.

With close ties to the Kurdish people in Iraq, Turkey has a vested interest in helping secure the region.

Turkey, along with France, Germany and the U.K. are assisting a U.S. led coalition against Islamic State militants who have declared an Islamic caliphate across parts of Iraq and Syria.

The IS has caused international alarm as it's fighters having slaughtered or driven out all who don't share their radical brand of Sunni Islam.

Among the casualties - aid worker Abdul-Rahman Kassig, whose name was Peter before converting to Islam.

Kassig is amongst five Westerners who have been captured and killed by the militants.

His parents attended a Muslim prayer service in his honour on Friday.
