Mumbai's death trap for motorists

Vashi-bound motorists have to be extra cautious when they negotiate the stretch along Thane-Belapur Road near Rabale police station, where an open pit has literally turned into a pond. While several agencies are busy passing the buck, the motorists have to take extra care to use this risky stretch.

On Wednesday, a biker plunged straight into the ditch and sustained minor injuries before being rescued by the locals. On Friday night, a cyclist fell into the open pit as he failed to spot the barricade.
