Mt Hood: December 2006 Tragedy
Description
Mount Hood, Oregon,
December 2006
On December 7th, 2006, three climbers ascended Mount Hood and made it to the summit. An unpredictable storm with hurricane force winds of up to 100 mph came their way. On Decemember 10th, Kelly James made a call to his family and needing help. The Search and Rescue teams were unable to reach the climbers for several days due to terrible weather conditions.
On December 17th, 2006, one climber was found deceased in a snow cave and had to remain there over night. The following day, they brought him down from the mountain and was identified as Kelly James. The other two climbers, Brian Hall and Jerry Cooke have not been found.
This slideshow is of a few images I found on various forums, webcams, some by Jerry (Nikko) Cooke (now presumed dead) Others from his friends, various news sites, and news video covering this tragedy.
