The music of ʻMountains Lead Nowhereʼ moves almost effortlessly between fragility and extensive, heavy sounds that flow into ecstatic highs every now and then, influenced by artists such as Sigur Ros, Bon Iver and M83. Spherical song constructs condense into hymn-like compositions and are supported by striking vocals. They present their songs in a protective wall of echo and reverb flags. Padsounds caress the listener, synths wafting around the corner, the bass remains in apparent calmness and than out of nowhere a musical escape from the security. Bandleader is 21-year-old singer and multi- instrumentalist David Maier, who is not only responsible for the lyrics and the songwriting, but also for the entire production of the album. For the recordings he teamed up with drummer Josef Schmiderer, who joined the band end of 2012. Together with Johannes Kaufmann on the keys, Pia Hager on the synthesizer, Simon Engels on the bass, and Lisa Maier as percussionist, the band comes together to create the dynamic sounds of ʻMountains Lead Nowhereʼ. "Receding Silence" is the title of there debut album which has been released in June 2013 on Lamb Lane Records. Receding Silence is a hymn to the silence that is apparently lost more and more in the modern society where we live now. No one has more time. Everything is going bigger, louder and faster. Multi-talent David Maier feels it painfully and sets his music against this activity. This is sounding poetry, led by his excellent and weighted voice.

Die Musik von Mountains lead Nowhere bewegt sich scheinbar mühelos zwischen Fragilität und großflächigen, schweren Sounds, welche sich immer wieder in ekstatischen Höhen entladen.
