MORE PEOPLE ON SOCIAL SUPPORT

With roughly five billion dollars spent annually on social support services, the Ministry of Social Development says the number of people on social support is steadily increasing. At this time the Ministry is getting set to launch a National Register of Vulnerable Persons in 2024, which Minister Donna Cox says will allow the Ministry to better meet the needs of those who are truly vulnerable in our society and help to prevent abuse of the system.
