Description
Now we turn to our Michelle Park at the weather center for the latest updates. Michelle, what's the status of the typhoon?
Daniel, the season's 12th typhoon is called Jongdari. It's a name submitted by North Korea meaning a skylark, and it's currently over waters near Okinawa, Japan. This weekend it will slam the east coast of the Japanese mainland and make its way up to the east sea near Korea's Doko Island by Monday. The typhoon will dissipate before reaching us, though, bringing little or no rainfall... and leaving the heatwave as it is. But the storm could still change course.
It was hot today, and it's going to be hot tomorrow,... the mercury about 4 to 7 degrees higher than average. Tokyo, meanwhile, can expect a cooler day.
It's going to be another tropical night, and Seoul will wake up tomorrow at 27 degrees and Daegu at 28.
The high in Seoul tops out at 35, Daegu and Gyeongju both soar to 37 degrees.
The heatwave with highs in the mid-thirties will continue through next week with more tropical nights.
I'll leave you with the weather conditions around the world.
