moon batchelder - Faeries Tell Me Things

i hear spirits!
dare i say it?
faeries tell me things...
whispering like misty mornings
mysteries and dreams.

tickling my
sensibilities with subtle thoughts.
which list like wisps of eiderdown
on gentle breeze aloft.

they lead me off to
secret places
hidden 'mongst the trees.
where all the Fates
have congregated,
murmuring like honey bees.

chanting and imagining
what destiny shall rise,
like as the moon
and winds conspire
to generate the tides!

i hear voices,
singing odes and
poetry and such.
filling all my days with laughter
wisdom and with lust.

and one day when the moon is new
i'll simply fly away.
become like them
a bit of mist
vanished in the grey.

then i will whisper
into some ear
able to receive
and unto other longing heart
give reason to believe.
