The Monsoon Palace is located on a hill top which overlooks the city of Lakes, Udaipur. The Monsoon Palace is situated at a distance of 5km away from the main city of Udaipur. The Monsoon palace was earlier known as the Sajjan Garh Palace. Upon visiting the Monsoon palace one can see the amazing structure which has a number of pillars, jharokas, along with many balconies.

The palace is considered to have been built by Maharana Sajjan Singh in the year 1884 for mainly observing the clouds and for predicting rains. Maharana Sajjan Singh wanted the palace to have 9 storey's quite similar to the design of an astronomical hub, however as he passed away very untimely only at the age of only 26 the structure was left incomplete. The structure is later believed to have been completed by Maharana Fateh Singh and also started to double as the royal retreat. If you really want to enjoy seeing the sunset, then there cannot be a better place than the Monsoon palace.
