Description
Monitoring of volunteers' sexual orientation is becoming as accepted a method of promoting "good practice" in the voluntary sector as asking people their age or ethnicity. Kyle Duncan, a WORLDwrite volunteer, argues here that it is not only an invasion of people's privacy but actually does nothing to combat real discrimination. Instead, it presumes the vulnerability of LGBT people and does damage to serious campaigning for equality.
