Monica Paris - 'The One'

We sit here day in and day out
waiting for “the one” to come around
not truly knowing what we’re looking for.

Will they be handsome or beautiful?

Will they be tall or short, skinny or fat?

Will they have blue, brown or green eyes?

How will we know when we’ve found “the one”?

I’ll tell you it won’t matter what they look like
because in your eyes they be the most beautiful person
you’ve ever seen.

And the shape of their body won’t matter
because we’re not perfect
we all have some kind of flaw about us

And the color of their eyes won’t matter
just as long as when you look into
them you see the love and desire
that they have for you and no one else.

And you’ll feel it in their touch
because no one will make you feel the way they do
and that’s how you’ll know when you’ve found “the one”.
