mona martinez - Things we take for granted

when we talked,
it was as if my problems,
melted away,
you took me back,
to the times we were kids,
do you know,
how happy i was than?
i had a mother,
and you as my best friend,
what more could i've ask for?
everything i wanted,
was right in front of me,
and i took it for granted,
now i'm thinking back,
to when life wasn't so bad,
until you walked in my life,
my world was gray,
wondering if i should,
still live another day,
i got back my smile,
and gaining back,
my confidence,
cuz i have a friend like you,
true friends are hard to find,
we been through thick and thin,
and helped the other person through,
that is why i wanted to say,
thank you for aways being there.
