Mocaine is a project led by Amrit (guitars/vocals) and Abhay (percussion). Since they met in Dec 2016, they have played as a three, four or a five-piece band depending on whether they were exploring grunge, western folk, blues, or an amalgamation of all three. For some inexplicable reason, they are often mistaken for a narcotic instead of a band and are working diligently to get to the bottom of it.

In July 2017, they released their first self-produced EP, The Remainder, which was a 7-track exploration of what may be called experimental folk tunes juxtaposed against subtle and somewhat darker lyrical themes.

Their next 3-track EP 'Portrait Of Dali', scheduled to release on the 17th of August 2018, which in stark contrast to their previous release, delves into the Seattle sound, inadvertently blending it with the blues, since both are inescapable influences for Amrit and Abhay. Soon after, they intend to release it as a full-length 12-track album.

For BalconyTV, they are accompanied by Karan Agarwal, a bass player and vocalist from Delhi, known primarily for his work with the Prog-Rock group Stable Flux.

'Teach Me' was written in 2010 and is one of the only two songs from that period to features in Mocaine's live sets even now. Inevitably, over the course of 8 years, it has evolved considerably from one guitar, one voice track into one that features the full band.
