I can't thank these old jazz friends enough to make these videos available to me for posting on Youtube and on Dailymotion.
These clips were shot in 1986 ( where does time go?) in Santa Ana, California in a place called Crazy Horse Saloon.
In this clip The Fenix Jazz Band perform a tune from the unique repertoire of theSam Morgan Jazz Band.The recordings by trumpeter Sam Morgan's Jazz Band for Columbia Records in 1927 are some of the best regarded New Orleans classic jazz recordings of the decade, and today continue to be influential.
Fenix Jazz Band approaches the tune in the Morgan manner. Halfway they cannot resist to add a few scat vocals which always excites the audience.
The members of this wonderful band from Buenos Aires are Leader and clarinettist Ernesto "Cachi" Carrizo, Jose "Dickie" Canci cornet, Jorge Palmieri trombone, Manual Fraga piano, Hector Garcia tuba, Guillermo "Yimo" Riportella banjo and Jose "Pepe" Bernardez drums
