„A dead dog in the sky...“ These are the very first words of the song Light-Years, the new single by the Austrian indie band MLE[e].
“If Laika, the first living creature in outer space, wasn’t burnt up in the atmosphere, we would watch a dead dog circling the earth for eternity.” says Klaus Kochberger, singer of the band. “A both fascinating and disturbing thought.” Klaus likes to play with thoughts: The 2010 debut album “Discovering The Substantial” was mostly about the relation between science and individuals, the 2012 album “11 Buildings” was all about architects and the new EP “My Heart Is An Engine” is dealing with challenges: Space travel, floods, instincts and your own disappearance.
“My Heart Is An Engine” was recorded mostly live in their rehearsal room, the cellar of a model house. The band likes to capture the energy of their live performance on tape.
MLE[e] work mostly DIY: Recording, production, videos and artwork is done by members of the band, the bands own label is called Musterhaus Records.
