El año pasado ocurrió algo muy significativo: Sony abría las puertas de los juegos de MLB, la Liga Nacional de Béisbol en Estados Unidos, a las consolas de otras compañías. MLB The Show 21 fue el primero que no salió en exclusiva para PlayStation, pues salió también en Xbox.
Este año, la jugada se repite, y además se suma Nintendo Switch, que recibirá por primera vez un juego con la licencia oficial de la Major League Baseball. MLB The Show 22 saldrá el 5 de abril en 2022 en PS5, PS4, Xbox X|S, Xbox One y Nintendo Switch.
