MLAs assault policeman inside Maharashtra assembly

Mumbai police on Tuesday booked Bahujan Vikas Aghadi MLA from Nalasopara Kshitij Thakur and MNS MLA Ram Kadam and 14 others for assaulting an Assistant Police Inspector of Traffic. Protests raged in Sangli as the alleged victim cop hails from Sangli. The cop was assaulted outside the cabin of Legislative Council Speaker Vasant Davkhare's cabin on Tuesday. On Monday Suryavanshi had stopped and fined a speeding vehicle on the sealink in which MLA Thakur was travelling. After Tuesday's assault, the injured Suryanvanshi was admitted to St George Hospita and later taken to J J Hospital for a CT scan. After reports are in, police will decide the Indian Penal Code sections to be applied.
