Description
Miss Tibet beauty pageant is held every year at McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh State of India. Through the efforts of director Lobsang Wangyal, this year saw the fourteenth edition of this much talked about event.
Four contestants Dechen Wangmo, Tenzin Dawa, Tenzing Dickey and Tenzing Sangyi arrived at McLeod Ganj on 31st May early morning. After the presentation of sashes the girls took their time preparing for a press conferece held at Norbung House in the afternoon the same day.
In the following days, the girls visited different institutes and places to interact with the people of the town. Fortunately His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama held his teachings at the Dalai Lama Temple. The girls got the opportunity to seek the blessings of His Holiness in person.
The actual competition started with the Swimsuit Round held at Bhagsu Falls on 3rd June 2016. There was a huge turn oput of audience inspite of the controversy and criticism surrounding the parade.
4th June 2016 saw the girls confidently speaking about varied issues at TIPA Hal. This was the Talk and Talent Round where the girls gpt the opprotunity to showcase their intelligidgence and talents.
The 3rd and Final round was held at TIPA Ground on the evening of 5Th June 2016. Shortly before the final ompetition, McLeod Ganj was hit with heavy downpour. Organisers and contestants were worried. Lobsang Wangyal however had firm belief that the rain will not hamper the competition. True to his belief, rain bearing clouds got blown away and the girls heaved sighs of relief.
Introduction round in casual attire, Evening gown round, Traditional Costumeround and finally the Question and Answer round were held with swift interludes of local performers.
