Minting NFTs on Meta
Description
As Facebook ($FB@US) continues its rebrand as Meta Platforms, the company is investing more in the crypto space, looking at how it can connect to users with NFTs. In a Thursday report from the Financial Times, teams with both Facebook and Instagram are working on features that will allow users to mint and sell their NFTs through their social media profiles. As the NFT market surpasses $40 billion in annual value, every business that can participate in crypto and NFTs are hoping to do so. Notably, Coinbase ($COIN@US) recently announced a partnership with Mastercard ($MA@US) as a payments partner for a new NFT marketplace. Coinbase has even said that it expects its NFT business to be bigger than its crypto offerings, and that includes Dogecoin and Bitcoin. At press time, Meta Platforms stock was up nearly 2% in premarket activity, sitting at just over $324.
