A potential crisis is emerging in Tobago amid the absence of an operational cargo vessel servicing the island. Visits by TV6 News to several supermarkets and hardware outlets across Tobago have revealed shortages of key supplies, with cement notably unavailable at most hardware stores surveyed.

One businessman has implemented reduced working hours for staff in an effort to avoid layoffs.
