mind and mouth - two things

if i stop to think right now
two things
will happen
given sun up
or sundown

first
i'll be taken in
by your mind and your voice
by your brightness and your brilliance
that
nothing
can outshine

it'll be like the center of a whirlwind
everything moving frantically about
tossed and spun
chaotically,
moribundly about
without direction,
people, cows, barns - you name it
in a tempest all around
i'm in the middle
calm
yet lost, somehow

i wouldn't mind stepping in
getting tossed by the winds
but only if i were tossed
thirty five miles
due north
to where your silvery skin is
your scent and your smile
i would be there in a flash
if i thought
for a second
you would let me
in

that's the second thing that would happen,
you see
the world would disappear
making room
and light
for only the notion
of being
as deep
inside
you
as i know how to be

that's what happens
when thoughts of you come to me

that's what happens,
and it sounds like a bargain to me

it sounds like a window,
...
a window
of opportunity
to be tossed by the winds
if only to begin
one moment
you
and me
a finite
blissful
eternity
