Militant denies planning Bali attack
Description
On trial for Indonesia's deadliest bomb attacks - militant Umar Patek walks into a Jakarta courtroom.
Patek is accused of involvement in the 2002 Bali nightclub bombings which left more than 200 dead, and mixing chemicals for Christmas Eve bomb attacks two years earlier.
His lawyers told the court that evidence showed he was not involved in planning the Bali bombs.
Patek has admitted involvement in building the bombs but denies participating in planning the attack.
He urged militants not to plan attacks in Indonesia but to go to places like the Palestinian Territories instead, where he said Muslims needed their help.
The Bali bombs were a watershed for Indonesia, forcing the country - which has the world's largest Muslim population - to confront the presence of militants on its soil.
