Mike Kosman - Flight 758

Description
1984
Me and my wife were worried
As we hurried out the door
The wind was howling like a dog
There was lightening all around
I jumped up on that eastbound 5
And put the hammer down
Little Luke was coming in tonight
Flight 758
Everything went wrong today
And I was running late
I was worried he'd be frightened
By the lightening in the sky
And the rain and all the thunder
And I hoped he wouldn't cry
With my steady hand and my eagle eyes
I drove on through the storm
Hoping in a couple hours
We'd all be safe and warm
I knew I had to be on time
I just couldn't be late
Cause just last night I promised Luke
I'd be waiting at the gate
We made it there by the skin of our teeth
And as they walked him off the plane
I was the one with tears in my eyes
Little Luke, he didn't complain
I gave him a big ol hug and a kiss
And we talked about his flight
Then we headed west to Batavia
On that God forsaken night
My wife was navigating
As we hauled our precious load
I was taking it nice and easy
Trying to keep it on the road
Little Luke didn't seem to concerned
As we slowly made our way
He drifted off to sleep
I guess he'd had a busy day
As we laid back in our bed that night
A smile came to my face
So good to be home sweet home
And have Luke here at our place
I turned and kissed my honey
Let out a little sigh
I said good night navigator
She said good night eagle eye
