People sing late
at night trucks
ready for conveyance
carnival workers sleep
I turn around
listening in the
warm air the
balcony stone-cold for
my stocking feet


People who doubt will sing with their own voices
amusement poets will sleep the immovable mover will quietly turn
around and listen in the warm fire


Some are still singing from balconies the immovable
mover listens and turns them around in
the fire the song is warm through the amusement parks of the centuries
