Mier sees speculative elements pinning ringgit
Description
The Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (Mier) said “speculative elements” had caused the ringgit to overshoot its fair value, which once removed, could see the local currency appeciating by about 10% from its current exchange rate against the US dollar.
Mier executive director, Professor Emeritus Dr Zakariah Abdul Rashid said that at the National Economic Outlook Conference 2017-2018 on Tuesday.
