Microsoft to Layoff Workers
Description
Microsoft has confirmed eliminating additional jobs at the beginning of its 2024 fiscal year. This is in addition to the 10,000 layoffs in January. Like other tech giants such as Amazon and Google, Microsoft has scaled back its workforce after rapidly increasing its headcount during the COVID-19 pandemic, citing its clients' demand for cost savings on cloud computing. Salespeople and customer success representatives who lost their jobs took social media to share the news. Microsoft emphasized that organizational and workforce adjustments are a regular part of managing their business and that they will continue to invest in strategic growth areas for the future and in support of their customers and partners.
