Do you know, I thought I was alright..
That I'd gotten over you
In this thankful night, that I'd prevailed
Out thought you, out manouvered you
Guess what baby
I was wrong...

I thought that after all, honey-pie
I didn't need you, no way
That you were a phantom of misgivings
But I saw your words today and thought
I'd let you down..
What is there now?

You can't contact me, you know
I've deleted all the links
To my heart, to me, to us, bugger!
I thought that is what you wanted
I was wrong, you were stupid
We were just crazily insane

Oh, well, just another forlorn refrain
Of you know what, what could've been
We all write this down, for goodness sake
And plunge the knives deeper
Into our hearts, why do we do this?
Are we silently, screamingly mad?

Hell, oh well, another gone
My tally just gets higher, it's almost
Reaching the sun, why do I do this?
Why do I fail, time and time again
I must be blighted, short-sighted
Just not 'normal', gosh not I!

So, I'll dust off the heart-strings
Erect that 'friendly' barrier that will shield
My heart from anything again, because
Buddy, this was the end, no more for me
I can't do it again, I just can't, it was you
And you are gone, oh well, 'tis done
