Michael Witkowski - Beardy sulks

Swim among those many
i see two known faces on bodies
which accompanied me here
he sulks- shields his emotions
from outside touch- never
accosting to earlier contact
the group poured rain clouds -ever-
of criticism down on him
he kept up his smiling comic face
sidestepping any question marks

she swims alone from one
depth to the other - on seeing
him sulk we swap understanding
smiles- but i prefer freedom
of not jumping in where she felt
his inner absence.best policy
accosting only as much as it is
desired - to maintain her attention
-'I'm fine' when i soothed
her peeve with stroking, pats
