Michael Stephenson - Coming Home

It seems as though I’ve been astray
Unbeknownst until this day;
I’ve learned a lot and I’ve been shone
That now’s the time for coming home;
Not in the way that seems straightforward
But to my old self I’m marching toward;
I’ve taken a long, unneeded break
I’m coming home for my own sake;
In times of heartache it seemed so dark
But in the end, reform it sparked;
I cannot say I love the method
But I’ve emerged somewhat intrepid;
For far too long, the nowhere man
Hiding in my nowhere land,
At long last I understand
I lost all site of tasks at hand;
Though the road was very painful
The end result is more so gainful;
After so long looking through my tainted scope
I’ve found that there is always hope;
For now I see with clarity
It’s my old self I wish to be.
