O Lord dear God I’m so distressed
Trouble and strife abound
And though I try I’m so depressed
For no way out I’ve found

My very thoughts transformed in prayer
My knees began to bow
“O Lord dear God if Your are there
Please come and help me now”

Arriving deep inside my soul
Love ventured as a flame
Bringing me peace making me whole
Purging me free of shame

O Lord dear God can this be You?
My body feels so strange
Could this for me be something new?
Is life’s about to change?

Immediately I felt aglow
The loss of wanton of sin
The tingling touch of Heaven’s flow
The burning Truth within

Then all at once I felt the rain
Salvation on the wing
Ridding the doubt healing the pain
Raising my voice to sing

I couldn’t hold it anymore
Trembling in a daze
Feeling the love of Jesus pour
My heart could only praise

The news with friends I longed to share
The world I want to tell
God’s grace God’s love God’s tender care
Has saved my soul from hell
