Michael Moorcroft - ****Eyes****
0 Views • Nov 10, 2014
Description
Soldiers watched the mud,
They all died too soon,
And the earth was now their blood.
The guns had spat and bit them,
As the boots thundered by,
Gas clung to their lungs,
Their relatives would cry.
The lonely land was bitter,
And the clouds began to weep,
The shells fell like litter,
The oily blood would seep.
The jigsaw bodies slept,
Crows shook hands with death,
As the rats and illness crept,
Suddenly the jigsaw bodies leapt,
As the sunken stars watched on.
