Michael Jones came all the way from Athens, Georgia to play his yet to be named song for BalconyTV Charleston today. He's been playing music since he first started piano at eight or nine and then moved on to guitar in middle school. Music was a family affair for his generation. At the holidays they would entertain themselves by playing music together. He also has an uncle who owns all the symphony instruments (and can play about three notes of each) and gives Jones someone from which he could borrow anything he could want.

Jones is more concerned with his songwriting being good than the process itself. The same can be said for the genre and classification of his music—he'd rather it just be considered good songwriting than fit into a specific category. He enjoys creating different arrangements rather than just sticking with the guitar or bass drums, and especially likes to include friends to make a different sound.
