Hollywood legend Michael Douglas celebrates his 70th birthday on Thursday, September 25.
Douglas has became one of the movie industry's most popular and enduring stars, making more than 40 movies and winning two Academy Awards.
The actor is part of Hollywood royalty - the son of acclaimed star Kirk Douglas, and the husband of Oscar-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, whom he married in 2000 and who coincidentally shares the same birthday, albeit 25 years apart - she'll be 45 on Thursday.
However, life hasn't completely been a fairy tale for Douglas. In 2010, his son Cameron, from his first marriage to Diandra Luker, was sentenced to five years prison for drug dealing. Also around that time, Douglas was diagnosed with Stage 4 throat cancer, which he treated with a rigorous course of radiation and chemotherapy.
