Michael Alfonso - Life Lesson

Sitting on my porch, bugs moving here and there,
A whole world buzzing, with which we're unaware;
They live by their instincts, something we've forgot,
We are so concerned, with the things we haven't got;

They have it simple; born, procreate, then die,
Time can not be wasted on thinking about why;
They do there job or help whenever they can,
We could learn alot just focused on the ants;

They don't complain, the colony is their intrest,
Work, and work - their only option is their best;
A sense of unity, it appears, humans have lost,
I'll be the best not you no matter what the cost;

If we could learn to come together as a whole,
We could do so much if we only played our roles;
Instead the young our taught; no one will help,
If you want something done you do it, yourself;

Maybe there's no help for my generation or the next,
But if we focus young, we could reverse this hex;
Show them that it should not stay this way forever,
Touch their hearts; make the world, a little better.
