MH17 flight code ends
Description
The code's being retired as a mark of respect for the 298 people who died when their plane was shot down over Ukraine exactly a week earlier.
Travellers on Friday's flight from Amsterdam said some passengers had seemed anxious about boarding.
(SOUNDBITE)(English) JENNY SMIDT, PASSENGER ON THE FINAL MH17 FLIGHT, SAYING:
"There's a bit of anxiousness, of course, but we sort of feel it wasn't Malaysia Airlines fault that the plane got shot down."
(SOUNDBITE)(English) NURULHUDA ABDUL HADI, PASSENGER ON THE FINAL MH17 FLIGHT, SAYING:
"I saw what they did in the Netherlands with the bodies and was very sad. But it could have happened to anybody."
It's the second time in four months the airline has retired a code.
MH370 has also been dropped after the disappearance of a plane and its 239 passengers and crew in March
