Mexican protesters scorch Guerrero building over missing students
Description
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
With tensions high in Guerrero, a group of protesters set a government education office alight on Thursday. The latest incident in a series of violent protests in the restive state.
Rosa Martinez was working in the building when protesters occupied the site and set it on fire.
"We were at work when they arrived... the kids. Well, not kids necessarily, they were just people who told us to get out. They told us to get out. Then they started to burn and break things," she said.
The disappearances of the students have been the toughest challenge yet to face Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, who took office two years ago vowing to restore order in Mexico, where about 100,000 people have died in violence linked to organized crime since 2007.
Earlier in the day Pena Nieto promised to reform police and tackle organized crime in Mexico as the embattled president looks to defuse anger over the apparent massacre of the 43 student
