Pure as an angel
Clad from head to toe
In modest attire
Like a nun
Radiating innocence
Purity
Holiness
Respect
She respects herself

Except when she doesn’t
When the clothes melt away
Like ice under the midday sun
When she falls into bed
And wakes up
Knowing she despises the man
Holding her close
Whispering words of affection

But she has what she wanted
From the night before
The kisses are too soft
The words too sweet
So her clothes climb back onto her skin
Covering her again
Pure
Like the Virgin
Like a snowflake
Fallen from the sky

She is modesty
