Description

Wake up angry. Mad at the world.
Feeling justified, I brandish my cross.
My insides burn, driving me on.
I'll scream my orders. I'll make you listen.

It's all your fault; all about you.
I'm obligated; your life is my job.
Can't you just be, not milk me dry?
Why are you here? Wait, I remember.

Deepest desire; a precious echo.
Make me a mother. Give me a purpose.
Boyfriend's wishes? Not important.
My perfect baby. My new existence.

Docile angel. Perfect plaything.
My little trophy. My little life raft.
Father jumped ship. Seas were too strong.
I have my hope chest. Don't need him now.

Talking jungle. Not quite normal.
Fix him! Fix him! Yes, someday, maybe.
Get there slowly. No great hurry.
Is it my fault? Push that thought down deep.

Listen, nurture, feed you patience.
Roar your frustration; I will persevere.
Soothe your ego. Squash my feelings.
Leave them to bubble. Quick, put the lid on.

Older, smarter, more resistant.
Not me, but you, I am what I am.
Love you. Loathe you. Fear you. Please you.
God protect you, poor motherless child.

Born to a girl; a paper doll.
At twenty-six years, a mal-formed seedling.
Playing mummies. Sit-com role play.
The real world burst in an ended my fun.

I gave you this, my father's curse.
I handed it down, this brilliant abyss.
A childhood shared; I understand.
The world is cold when you don't fit in.

Is it all bad? Not entirely.
You are my solace. You are my daylight.
I laugh with you. I cry for you.
My little mirror. My anchor. my bridge.
