Melissa Hurst - A Bitter Recollection

The lips of my eidolon
barred its passion
from my longing.

I consumed him greedily
but I have no regret in it.
Tis a burden to bear
that there is nothing left
to swallow.

The taste of my eidolon,
so savory that the taste
still lingers upon my tongue.
But what is the use in tasting
when his heart has been shut up
from me?

He gave me his word
and it still resides
in my lamenting heart.
How can I forget the gift
that the Most High bestowed
at my feet?

How can I erase the disregard
that transformed my Eidolon
into a shadow of the past?
